This is just a fantastic little cafe. A local gem, and you really can't get any more local than this. These folks somehow crank out a Wonka-esque variety of amazing baked goods. And the cafe itself is just charming. Warm, friendly with lots of good seating inside and out. The staff is cheerful, friendly and really efficient. Highest recommendation!
I've recently started coming here multiple times a week before work in the morning, and I wish I could just stay in there instead! The vibes are so cozy and inviting, with some relaxing jazz in the mornings, and the staff is wonderful. There's a really unique sugar bar with different flavors of sugar too The coffee and food/baked goods are spectacular. Seriously may be the best coffee I've had in Vermont, there is not a single thing I've not liked from there. It's become my new favorite coffee shop. The name "Barrio" means "Neighborhood" in Spanish and it really is such a lovely neighborhood cafe. 100/10!!!
Fantastic bakery with exquisite baked goods. The cookie we got was fantastic and so were our chai and matcha lattes. I have been wanting to stop by here for some time and so glad I did today during the ramble. This bakery is the epitome of an amazing food venue and part of what makes Burlington an amazing place! Such a sweet little coffee shop in the Old North End. Cozy, welcoming, and full of neighborhood charm. Great coffee, friendly people, and the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. Always love supporting local spots like this.
Went for the first time here yesterday and this place was absolutely adorable. The vibe inside was amazing and the coffee was super good. The vanilla latte syrup was very good and well made. Also random but the bathroom was so aesthetic and nicely decorated. The only thing I will say is the prices were quite high, even for being in Burlington. But with that being said I will most definitely be back here.
This coffee and space are lovely this morning, even the kids 2 tables down are in a carb haze of joy, nodding along with the country music playing in the background, setting the tone for the hot Summer morning. The caffeine is pulsing through my veins, nutty undertones with a hint of the vanilla sugar I dropped in from the sugar bar are pulling my hand up and down and down and up, people walk in and out, lavish greetings from co-workers and subdued hellos from friends echo thru my slow awakening. Yes, please. Next time, I’ll look closer at the baked goods, there was a ham and cheese calling Alex’s name. This is a GREAT start to your day.
best pastries out of any cafe here. other cafes literally stock their pastries, which truly says something. coffee wise barrio is in my top 3 for burlington. the staff are always nice, like noticeably more than a lot of other places, good music is always being played, and theres always local art on the walls. barrio is such a special place i only wished they would be open later but it gets me up early when i feel like going there so oh well.
